A calcium channel blocker that relaxes blood vessels, lowering blood pressure.
An angiotensin ii receptor blocker (arb) that also helps relax blood vessels and lower blood pressure.
Treatment of essential hypertension (high blood pressure)
May be used alone or in combination with other antihypertensive medications
Azelnidipine blocks calcium channels in blood vessel walls, causing vasodilation (widening of blood vessels). Telmisartan blocks the action of angiotensin II, a hormone that narrows blood vessels. The combined effect lowers blood pressure effectively.
Store in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
Dosage should be determined by a physician based on individual patient needs and response.
Generally, it is taken once daily, usually in the morning, with or without food.
Do not stop taking this medication suddenly without consulting your doctor.
Cough (less common than with ACE inhibitors)

Edema (swelling)
Alcohol may increase the risk of dizziness and hypotension. Limit alcohol intake while taking this medication.
May cause dizziness or drowsiness. Avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how this medication affects you.
Should not be used during pregnancy. Consult your doctor before breastfeeding while taking this medication.
Not recommended for use in children.
