Silodosin is the active ingredient in the medication.It belongs to a class of drugs known as alpha-1 blockers.Silodosin works by relaxing the muscles in the prostate and bladder neck, which helps to improve urinary flow.
Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), also known as an enlarged prostate.
Symptoms of BPH, such as difficulty urinating, frequent urination, and weak urine stream.
Silosam 4mg Tab (Silodosin) selectively blocks alpha-1A adrenoceptors in the prostate and prostatic urethra, leading to relaxation of smooth muscle in these tissues. This relaxation improves urinary flow by reducing resistance in the urinary tract.
Store Silodosin at room temperature, away from light and moisture. Keep it out of reach of children and pets.
The recommended starting dose of Silodosin is 4 mg once daily.
Your doctor may adjust your dose based on your individual needs and response to treatment.
Take Silodosin with a full glass of water, preferably with a meal.
Do not crush, chew, or break the tablets.
Serious side effects are rare but can include: allergic reactions, fainting, fast or irregular heartbeat, and sudden vision loss.
Common side effects include: dizziness, headache, runny nose, fatigue, and low blood pressure.
Alcohol may increase the risk of dizziness and low blood pressure. It is advisable to avoid or limit alcohol consumption while taking Silodosin.
Silodosin can cause dizziness. Avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how the medication affects you.
Silodosin is not recommended for pregnant or breastfeeding women. It is not known if the medication passes into breast milk.
Silodosin is not approved for use in children.
Caution is advised in patients with severe kidney disease.
Silodosin is not recommended for patients with severe liver disease.
