This combination drug works by inhibiting the activity of the HIV-1 reverse transcriptase enzyme, which is essential for the virus to replicate. Lamivudine and zidovudine are nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors (NRTIs) that block the conversion of viral RNA into DNA. Nevirapine is a non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor (NNRTI) that binds to a different site on the reverse transcriptase enzyme.

Store at room temperature, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.

This medication is typically taken orally, with or without food.

Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

This medication can harm an unborn baby. It is not recommended for use during pregnancy. This medication can pass into breast milk and may harm a nursing baby. It is not recommended for use while breastfeeding.



Children

This medication is safe and effective for children with HIV-1 infection.



Kidney

Kidney problems may increase the risk of side effects. Your doctor may need to adjust your dosage if you have kidney problems.



Liver

Liver problems may increase the risk of side effects. Your doctor may need to adjust your dosage if you have liver problems.
