Terazosin

Terazosin is the active ingredient in this medication.It belongs to a class of drugs called alpha-blockers.

High blood pressure (hypertension)

Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), a condition where the prostate gland enlarges

Hytrin 5mg Tab (Terazosin) works by relaxing the muscles in the blood vessels, which helps to lower blood pressure. It also relaxes the muscles in the prostate gland, improving urine flow in men with BPH.

Store terazosin at room temperature, away from light and moisture. Keep it out of reach of children and pets.

The dosage of terazosin will be determined by your doctor based on your individual needs and medical history.

It is typically taken once a day, usually at bedtime.

Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

Do not crush or chew the tablet.

Weakness

Fatigue

Nasal congestion

Drowsiness

Flushing

Edema (swelling)

Erectile dysfunction

Rapid heartbeat

Shortness of breath

Chest pain

Alcohol Consumption

Avoid or limit alcohol consumption while taking terazosin, as it can increase the risk of dizziness and lightheadedness.



While Driving or operating Machinery

Avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how terazosin affects you, as it can cause drowsiness and dizziness.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

Terazosin is not recommended for use during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Discuss any concerns with your doctor.



Children

Terazosin is not approved for use in children.



Kidney

If you have kidney problems, your doctor may need to adjust your dosage.



Liver

If you have liver problems, your doctor may need to monitor your liver function while taking terazosin.
