Cefixime

Is a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic.

Treatment of bacterial infections of the ears (otitis media), throat (pharyngitis/tonsillitis), sinuses (sinusitis), lungs (pneumonia), skin and soft tissues, urinary tract infections (UTIs), and gonorrhea (uncomplicated). Specific bacterial infections are treated only if they are susceptible to Cefixime.

Dp Cef Dt 100mg Tab (Cefixime) inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to bacterial cell death. It works by binding to penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs), preventing the formation of peptidoglycan, an essential component of the bacterial cell wall.

Store at room temperature (20-25°C), away from moisture and direct sunlight. Keep out of reach of children.

Dosage and duration of treatment will vary based on infection severity, patient age, and kidney function. Always follow your doctor's or pharmacist's instructions.

Cefixime is usually taken orally with or without food.

Do not stop taking the medicine prematurely, even if you feel better, to complete the full course of treatment and prevent antibiotic resistance.
