Docax 20mg Inj 0.5ml (Docetaxel) works by interfering with the growth and division of cancer cells. It does this by preventing the formation of microtubules, which are essential for cell division.
Store docetaxel at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep it out of the reach of children and pets. Do not flush unused medication down the toilet.
The dosage of docetaxel will vary depending on your individual health condition, the type of cancer being treated, and other factors.
It is typically given intravenously (into a vein) by a healthcare professional.
The frequency of treatment will also be determined by your healthcare provider.
Common side effects of docetaxel include:
Nausea and vomiting
Hair loss (alopecia)
Low blood cell count (neutropenia, anemia)
Fatigue
Diarrhea
Mouth sores
Skin rash
Fluid retention
Nail changes
Peripheral neuropathy (numbness or tingling in the hands and feet)
Serious side effects can occur. Contact your healthcare provider immediately if you experience any unusual symptoms.
It is generally advised to avoid alcohol consumption while taking docetaxel. Alcohol can worsen some side effects, such as nausea and fatigue.
Docetaxel can cause fatigue and other side effects that may impair your ability to drive or operate machinery. Avoid doing these activities if you experience any such symptoms.
Docetaxel is harmful to an unborn baby. It is not recommended for pregnant women. It is also not recommended for breastfeeding women.
The use of docetaxel in children is determined on a case-by-case basis by the healthcare provider.
